Citrus County Street Team
The Citrus County Street Team is a group of individuals from several agencies and organizations who are committed to prevention activities in Citrus County. While focused on teens mainly, the Street Team’s goals are to help educate both children and parents about ways they can stay healthy, happy, and safe.
The Street Team is strictly a collaborative group that formed an alliance to fill a need regarding middle and high school students. Although the Street Team is not an independent organization, it utilizes certain components of the Anti-Drug Coalition such as the Friday Night Done Right initative, where Street Team members work together to provide an Alcohol, Drug, and Tobacco FREE event for youth, an environmental strategy for the ADC.
Other Street Team projects include, the annual Unity Day/Unity Walk event for Bullying Prevention Month, Teen Town Hall, Promise in the Park, and Rock the Park. Some Street Team Members also are a part of a summer camp prevention, Camp Rise.
